Leadership Certificate

Context
The Sustainability Leadership Certificate was launched to address the growing demand for leaders capable of navigating the complex challenges of sustainability. Designed as an intensive annual program, it equips current and aspiring leaders with the strategic thinking, collaborative skills, and innovative approaches needed to drive change across sectors. With over 300 graduates to date, the program has become a cornerstone for building sustainability leadership capacity in Atlantic Canada and beyond.

Our Role
Colab has partnered with Dalhousie University to facilitate and lead the program since 2015. We design and deliver a dynamic learning experience that integrates current research, real-world case studies, and collaborative problem-solving. Through interactive sessions and peer-to-peer learning, we create the conditions for participants to explore environmental, social, and economic dimensions of sustainability while building networks that extend far beyond the classroom.

Outcome
The Sustainability Leadership Certificate has grown into a thriving platform for personal and professional transformation. Each year, graduates leave with strengthened leadership capacity, practical tools to advance sustainability initiatives, and a supportive cross-discipline network. With hundreds of alumni applying their learning in diverse fields, the program continues to amplify its impact, cultivating a community dedicated to shaping a more resilient and sustainable future.
